New Lead Minister Announced
At the congregational meeting on Sunday, July 18, 2010, a unanimous vote confirmed Rev. Kenji Marui as the new lead minister for Calvary United Church. Rev. Marui will join the congregation effective January 1, 2011, coming from the Appin/Glencoe two point charge. A covenanting service for Rev. Marui will be held in the early spring.
Rev. Barry Moore has agreed to lead our services from November 1 to December 31. Rev. Moore is taking a break following an interim position at Metropolitan United and is looking forward to filling in at Calvary.
We would like to thank our own ministerial staff who have done such a wonderful job assuming extra responsibilities while we transition to our new lead minister.

This Sunday Rev. Gordon Duncan will be preaching “The Vital Ingredient – Part 3 – The Cost”. The scripture readings are Hebrews 11 & 12 (selected verses), and Luke 18: 18 – 27.

This Sunday Reverend Gordon Duncan will be preaching “The Vital Ingredient – Part 2 – A Shaft of Light”. The scripture readings are Jeremiah 18: 1 – 6, Psalm 91, pg. 807 with refrain, and Luke 13: 10 – 13. A congregational meeting, led by the Search Committee, will follow the service.

Joint Search Committee Report
A congregational meeting will be held following the service on July 18 to receive the report and recommendation from the Joint Search Committee. The meeting will be chaired by the Presbytery representative to this committee. Congregation members are encouraged to attend.
